Hoom, a male Phlog native to the Forest Moon of Endor, lived in 3 ABY. During this time, his young sibling, Nahkee, was abducted. Along with his parents, Zut and Dobah, he discovered evidence—planted by the witch Morag—that implicated the Ewoks. Enraged, they charged towards the Ewoks' settlement, Bright Tree Village, encountering numerous Ewoks along their path, whom they frightened and yelled at.
Upon arriving at the village, the Ewok warriors' defenses proved inadequate against the massive Phlogs. However, before any violence could occur, some woklings returned Nahkee, explaining they had rescued him from the Duloks where Morag had left him. Overjoyed by Nahkee's return, Hoom and his family scared off the Duloks, who had followed the Ewoks, and then established peaceful relations with Bright Tree Village.

Hoom was a young male Phlog residing on the Forest Moon of Endor. He was born to Zut and Dobah, also Phlogs, and was the older brother to Nahkee. In the year 3 ABY, Hoom and his family journeyed to the vicinity of Bright Tree Village, the home of the Ewoks. While his parents were occupied, Hoom amused Nahkee by creating a shower of leaves from a plant, much to his sibling's delight. Zut then requested Hoom's assistance with a large rock, and Hoom promptly complied. During this time, Nahkee wandered off into the forest without supervision, where he was abducted by the witch Morag. The witch then strategically placed evidence to suggest the Ewoks were responsible, hoping to provoke an attack on their village by the Phlogs.
Meanwhile, Dobah noticed Nahkee's absence and alerted her husband and son, who hurried over, concerned. Hoom spotted tracks leading away, and following them, they discovered Ewok clothing and weapons. Concluding the Ewoks were behind the abduction, Morag watched gleefully. The Phlogs angrily marched toward the village, and Zut encountered four woklings. The young Ewoks fled into a hollow log, which rolled off a cliff and into a river. Hoom and Dobah joined Zut, peering over the edge at the swimming Ewoks. They shouted "Ewoks!" at them but couldn't reach them.
Eventually, the three Phlogs encountered more Ewoks, and Dobah accused them of stealing her baby, which the Ewok shaman Logray translated. He and Chief Chirpa realized Morag had likely framed them, but the Phlogs launched a boulder at the cliff, causing Logray to use magic to save the woklings Kneesaa a Jari Kintaka and Latara. Hoom, Zut, and Dobah continued to shout at them in their language.

Hoom and his parents eventually reached the village, where the Ewok warriors were prepared to fight. Dobah initiated the conflict by throwing a boulder, which the Ewoks countered with a rock of their own. Although it struck Zut, he dismissed it as insignificant. Morag watched with anticipation as the Phlogs prepared to destroy Bright Tree Village, but before they could begin, Wicket Warrick, Teebo, Kintaka, and Latara returned with Nahkee from the Dulok Swamp, where Morag had hidden him. Nahkee's cries distracted his family from attacking the Ewoks. Dobah rushed to pick him up, followed by Hoom and Zut, who rejoiced at his return.
Nahkee explained that the Ewoks had rescued him, and at that moment, the Duloks arrived to reclaim their captive. Their king, Gorneesh, demanded Nahkee back, but he stopped short upon seeing the imposing Phlogs. Zut realized the Duloks were the true kidnappers and scared them away by stomping his foot, amusing the woklings. He then shook hands with Logray, acknowledging the Ewoks as friends, and he and his family departed.
Hoom enjoyed making his brother laugh and was always willing to help his father. He was deeply angered by Nahkee's abduction. Hoom had light brown skin, reddish hair, and spoke the Phlog language.
Hoom wore a purple loincloth.
Hoom's debut was in "Rampage of the Phlogs," the third episode of the animated series Ewoks' first season, broadcast on September 21, 1985. John Stocker provided his voice.
