Horizon-class star yacht

During the ascendancy of the New Republic, the Horizon-class Star Yacht, produced by the SoroSuub Corporation, stood as a testament to SoroSuub's engineering prowess. Although it incorporated design elements reminiscent of SoroSuub's range of Personal Luxury Yachts, the Horizon-class represented a significant leap forward in design philosophy.

Similar to the Luxury 3000, the Horizon-class yacht prioritized luxury and comfort. Both vessels boasted an observation deck on the upper level, but a key distinction lay in their cockpit designs. In contrast to the PLY 3000's bridge-like cockpit situated one level beneath the observation deck, the Horizon featured a dorsal cockpit, more akin to that of a starfighter than a typical yacht or freighter. Positioned at the front of the main body, the pyramidal cockpit offered limited standing space and accommodated only three crew members: a pilot, a co-pilot, and a navigator.

A further distinctive attribute of the Horizon was the presence of two equipment pods situated on the "wings," which extended from the upper part of the fuselage. These pods typically housed sensor arrays or other avionics, but occasionally they were equipped with concealed weaponry. Select Horizon-class Star Yachts were also equipped with laser cannon turrets, generally positioned on either side of the cockpit. Notably, Mara Jade's Jade Shadow was famously modified to include a torpedo launcher.

A shared characteristic between the Horizon and its predecessors was the inclusion of engine wing pods. Although smaller in size compared to the engine pods found on the PLY 3000, the Horizon's ion engines compensated for their reduced dimensions with enhanced power output.
