Hortel Ossilege was a Bakuran naval officer (of the male gender) who served in the military under Prime Minister Gaeriel Captison. During the time of the Corellian Crisis, he was the commanding officer of the Bakuran Defense Fleet that was lent to the New Republic.
Ossilege, a native of the planet of Bakura, played a role in the expansion of the Bakuran navy without the knowledge of the New Republic. This was done through the repair of abandoned cruisers acquired on the black market, or by obtaining military frigates and falsely claiming to convert them into civilian starships before selling them to shell corporations owned by the Bakuran military. In addition to this, he oversaw the experimental hyperwave inertial momentum sustainer, also known as the HIMS project, which gave his fleet the ability to break through interdiction fields.
Ossilege was in command of the Namana-class light cruiser named Intruder, which served as the flagship of the Bakuran fleet. He met his end in the Battle of Centerpoint Station, making the ultimate sacrifice of his ship to inflict significant damage on the Sacorrian fleet.
Ossilege was a man of small stature, bald, with prominent eyebrows and a pointed goatee. He was known for being meticulous and well-groomed, often seen wearing his ornate Bakuran naval dress uniform, adorned with numerous medals and ribbons. Despite his showy appearance, Admiral Ossilege was a brilliant tactician with extensive military experience.
