Hovus Jorrick, a Klatooinian male, held the position of Chief of Security for Count Rodas Borgin during the Imperial era.
Around the year 3 BBY, Jorrick's path crossed with that of Imperial envoy Jahan Cross. Cross was seeking permission from Lord Rodas Borgin, the head of House Borgin, to join the flight aboard the Windrunner with the aim of protecting Bron Dooku. Rodas asserted that Jorrick's duty was to safeguard the Count. To demonstrate his superior guarding abilities, Cross challenged Jorrick to shoot him. Jorrick followed the order, but before he could act, Cross swiftly incapacitated him. Impressed by this display, Rodas replaced Jorrick with Cross, preventing the Klatooinian from accompanying the cruise on the air ship.
Subsequently, Jorrick was assigned to oversee security at Otoh Dooku, tasked with safeguarding the young Count Dooku. Regrettably, Candra Tymon and Cross managed to abduct the boy and make their escape using Manta droid subfighters. Jorrick and his security team pursued them in their own sub-fighters. However, Jorrick was deceived with false information indicating that a Bongo was rapidly moving away. Consequently, Jorrick and the remaining security personnel redirected their pursuit towards the bongo. He then received communication from Lord Borgin, who instructed him to retreat and await the landing of Cross, Tymon, and the boy, with the intention of retrieving the boy at that point.
Jorrick successfully executed this part of the plan. However, in addition to Cross and Tymon, he and his security force were confronted by the bounty hunter Boba Fett. A gunfight erupted, during which Jorrick sustained a chest wound inflicted by Cross. Despite his injury, Jorrick continued his pursuit of Cross and Fett, determined to recover the boy. As they approached their destination, they witnessed Fett launching a missile that seemingly destroyed Cross's shuttle and resulted in the deaths of Tymon and the boy. He then relayed this information to Lord Borgin. However, unbeknownst to him, the boy had survived. At Borgin Castle, Lord Borgin abandoned Jorrick, leaving him to succumb to his injuries.
The first appearance of Hovus Jorrick was in 2012, within the pages of Agent of the Empire – Hard Targets 2, an issue from the Star Wars: Agent of the Empire comic book series. Notably, in that specific issue, the spelling of Jorrick's species was incorrect, rendered as "Klahtooinian."
