Hyabb-Twith Campaigns

The Hyabb-Twith Campaigns encompassed a series of engagements that occurred between a group of Jedi Knights, including Arca Jeth, and the group known as the Nelori Marauders.

History

An escalating crisis

The roots of the conflict within the Hyabb-Twith Corridor can be traced to the very inception of the Galactic Republic, as the governing bodies of both the Hyabb and the Twith systems were in constant competition to dominate the region. After the Hyabb and Twith forces triumphed over the people of Dachat in a series of military conflicts, the surviving Dachat patriots were forced to abandon their homeworld, subsequently reorganizing themselves as the Nelori Marauders within the Corridor. By establishing their operational headquarters in the contested area of space situated between the Hyabb and Twith systems, the Marauders were able to launch attacks against either system without fearing any reprisal. This was due to the prevailing political tensions that effectively prevented either side from deploying patrol vessels into the disputed territory. Following years of increasing conflict, the Marauders began to target Republic vessels and initiate assaults on worlds that held membership within the Galactic Senate, thereby drawing a direct line to Coruscant. Their repeated victories served to embolden the Marauders and replenish their resources, enabling them to sustain their operations and advance their campaign towards the galactic capital world. As the threat became increasingly evident and citizens of the Republic fell victim to the Nelori Marauders, the Jedi Knights based on Ossus assembled a specialized team with the goal of intercepting the Marauders and dismantling their organization before they could inflict further damage.

Intervention by the Jedi

While the ships of Hyabb and Twith were hesitant to venture into the Corridor separating their respective systems, the Jedi task force successfully tracked the Marauders back to their main base located on the planet Voon. There, they proceeded to obliterate the majority of the Nelori fleet in a devastating assault that resulted in the loss of twelve Jedi lives. Despite their victory, the remaining two dozen Jedi Knights were met with a fierce counterattack in retaliation for the destruction of the Marauders' shipyard and operational base. Five Jedi survived the initial onslaught and were subsequently reinforced by an additional 30 Knights. Together, they began preparations for a ground assault following the crippling of the Nelori fleet. By infiltrating Voon's defenses utilizing advanced stealth ships that were both sleek and devoid of weaponry, the Jedi launched a surprise attack on the remaining Marauders at dawn, only to discover that their base had been completely evacuated and showed no signs of recent occupation. Perplexed by this discovery, the Jedi were certain that the Marauders could not have left the planet undetected, given the presence of their two sensor ships in orbit. One of the Jedi, Arca Jeth, employed his unique abilities to probe deep beneath the surface of the facility and became convinced that the Marauders had retreated into the planet's subterranean depths. Working together, the Jedi navigated the roughly constructed tunnels, growing increasingly cautious as they descended further into the planet's crust. Jeth was the only Jedi who could sense the dark energy emanating from the cavern, and when the walls suddenly collapsed, four Jedi were instantly killed. As over two hundred Nelori Marauders flooded the cavern with a barrage of blaster fire, the Jedi fought valiantly to defend themselves, but were clearly outmatched as their numbers continued to dwindle. Recognizing that defeat was imminent, Jeth sensed the presence of the dark side influencing the cavern and began to project a feeling of triumph to his fellow Jedi. Immediately following the use of this battle meditation technique, the momentum of the battle shifted, and the emboldened Jedi managed to defeat the Marauders. Although half of the Jedi force had perished in the battle, the remaining Jedi emerged from the caverns victorious. Over the following weeks, Jeth guided the remaining Jedi in their efforts to eliminate any surviving Marauders. With the Nelori influence completely eradicated, the conflict within the Corridor came to an end.
