Hylo Visz's Mirialan mother, a female, resided on Balmorra with her husband and their daughter throughout the era of the Great Galactic War. During the Sith Empire's assault upon their world, the husband was killed, compelling her and Hylo to evacuate the planet along with countless other displaced individuals. Although she survived the battle, the Mirialan woman contracted a serious sickness while fleeing the conflict. Hylo's mother passed away while their refugee transport was temporarily stationed on the "Smuggler's Moon" known as Nar Shaddaa, thus orphaning the young Mirialan. Ultimately, Hylo Visz achieved fame as a galaxy-famous smuggler. Shortly before becoming sick, she inadvertently stained her cherished robes. This incident contributed to Hylo's conviction in the Invisible Law of the Universe.
