I-9, an asteroid situated close to the heart of the Cularin asteroid belt, played host to a powerful dark side artifact known as the Darkstaff by the concluding time of the Galactic Republic's decline. Around 31 BBY, the Human individual Len Markus journeyed to I-9, where he obtained possession of the Darkstaff in the final years of the Republic.
