Kyle Katarn departs from an asteroid moments before it explodes. The Imperial artificial asteroids, numbering two, functioned as space stations that were cleverly camouflaged to resemble asteroids. These installations provided shelter for military staff and a variety of resources, such as AT-STs, several stormtroopers, and field stormtroopers. These two asteroids were the launch point for the Imperial forces during the battle of Altyr V. Kyle Katarn successfully infiltrated and demolished the asteroids, which turned the tide of the battle and secured a win for the New Republic.
