A stormtrooper securing the Imperial Base
During the time of the Galactic Civil War, the Galactic Empire maintained an Imperial Base on the Naboo world, situated in the Mid Rim region. It was located a certain distance to the west of the Gungan Sacred Place. The base saw use in 1 ABY for the imprisonment of Simo Oron, a Rebel spy, before his relocation off-planet. Critically, his belongings, which included a sensitive list of contacts, were inadvertently left behind. C-3PO, a protocol droid, gave the mission to a team of Rebel operatives: retrieve the list before the Empire discovered it. Consequently, the Rebel group launched an assault on the base, which was defended by a stormtrooper contingent. Ultimately, they were successful in gaining access to the base's lowest level and retrieving the contact list.
The Naboo Imperial Base featured as a location within Star Wars Galaxies, the 2003 video game that was a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game. It was created by Sony Online Entertainment and distributed by LucasArts. The game was shut down on December 15, 2011. The base became part of the game via the "Rebel Theme Park" revamp, which was part of the "Chapter 6" update released on May 22, 2007.
