Simo Oron was a spy for the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War; he was a male Bothan.
Following the Battle of Yavin, Simo Oron operated on Naboo, serving under the command of spymaster Bertos Goodner.
In 1 ABY, the Galactic Empire captured Simo Oron and imprisoned him within a small Imperial Base situated in Naboo's Lasay Swamp. Upon learning of his capture, the Rebel base on Corellia planned a rescue operation to extract Simo before his transfer off-world. However, his belongings, including a sensitive contact list, remained at the base. Consequently, the Rebel droid C-3PO tasked a team of Rebel operatives to retrieve the contact list from the Imperial base on Naboo before the Empire could discover it. While the Rebel team successfully secured the contact list and delivered it to Bertos Goodner, Simo Oron was successfully rescued.
Simo Oron was referenced in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies. This massively multiplayer online roleplaying game was developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts, before it was shut down on December 15, 2011. The mention of Simo Oron was incorporated into the game with the updated "Rebel Theme Park," which was released as part of the "Chapter 6" update on May 22, 2007.
