The Incisor Sidestep represented a hyperspace route linking the planet of Anoat, situated within the Anoat sector, to Sullust, a planet located in the Sullust sector. Both of these locations resided within the Outer Rim Territories region of the galaxy. Consequently, this route served as a link between the extensive Corellian Trade Spine and the Rimma Trade Route, given that Anoat and Sullust were also positioned along these major routes.
Furthermore, Sullust provided a connection from the Incisor Sidestep to the clandestine Imperial Sanctuary Pipeline, which led to the moon of Endor. Maz Kanata, the one-time pirate Queen, identified the Incisor Sidestep as a legitimate route favored by smugglers, contrasting it with officially recognized routes. She included this information on a map featured in the book that later became known as the Smuggler's Guide.
The reference book Star Wars: Smuggler's Guide, penned by Daniel Wallace, initially introduced the Incisor Sidestep in 2018.
