Indomitable served the Galactic Empire as a Strike-class cruiser.
This vessel, in conjunction with the Strike cruisers Formidable and Triumph, as well as the Grey Wolf Imperial-class Star Destroyer, was intended to spring an ambush on a strike force dispatched by Grand Admiral Demetrius Zaarin. This strike force was under the impression that they were to ambush a convoy carrying Missile Boats, but it was actually transporting munitions. After the strike force's destruction, the ships jumped to hyperspace. Subsequently, it served as an escort for Task Force Whirlwind. Task Force Whirlwind was assigned to link up with a convoy of Missile Boats, which were being utilized as bait to draw Zaarin's forces into an ambush. However, Zaarin deployed the Maelstrom with orders to eliminate the Task Force, an attack that was successfully fended off. Nevertheless, the Maelstrom managed to delay the task force sufficiently, causing it to fall significantly behind schedule.
