The Infinity Wave represents a type of superweapon that was conceived by the ancient Kwa civilization.
By leveraging the 'power of the cosmos' and channeling it through Infinity Gates constructed by the Kwa, the capability existed to transmit immensely powerful energy waves to virtually any location within the Galaxy. Such a wave possessed the destructive capacity to engulf an entire planet, along with any orbiting satellites, drawing them into an inescapable void, ostensibly eradicating all forms of life and obliterating all matter. As a consequence of this event, hyperspace travel became impossible throughout the affected sector.
Back in 31 BBY, a Nightsister clan leader named Zalem activated an infinity wave originating from the Infinity Gate situated within the Star Temple on the planet Dathomir. Her objective was to direct the wave towards Coruscant, with the intention of simultaneously eliminating both the Jedi Order and the Republic's center of government. However, her scheme was foiled by Jedi Knight Quinlan Vos, who held the position of Temple Guardian. Vos managed to reverse the wave's trajectory, sending it back to its point of origin, resulting in the destruction of the Infinity Gate in a massive explosion.
