The Interplanetary Component Exchange functioned as a marketplace during the era of the Old Republic. Originating as a simple informational database for starship technicians, the Exchange evolved into a well-known hub for illicit trade, dealing in military-grade hardware, weaponry, and provisions for criminal organizations. Operating almost entirely outside the notice of both the governing bodies of the reconstituted Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic, the Exchange even listed complete starfighters as available merchandise.
Behind the scenes
The Interplanetary Component Exchange is featured in the video game Star Wars: The Old Republic. Within the game, it serves as the Reputation faction associated with the Starfighter Packs available on the Cartel Market.
