The Invincible, a Republic light assault cruiser, functioned as the command ship for Ranulph Tarkin and served as the flagship within his fleet. The crew included Antidar Williams and Jace Dallin, in addition to Tarkin himself.
To transform them into light assault cruisers, the Invincible and several Consular-class space cruisers underwent significant modifications at a major shipyard over a period of several months. It received enhanced weaponry, sensors, and armor, along with the addition of ten Evac pod slots on its ventral side for troop deployment. To accommodate these upgrades, the ship's original engines were replaced with larger engines, similar to those found on a Corellian Star Shuttle.
During the Stark Hyperspace War, the Invincible was among the surviving third of the fleet that evaded the navcomputer virus deployed by the Stark Commercial Combine, ultimately arriving at Troiken. It met its end, along with the rest of Tarkin's vessels, during the First Battle of Qotile.
As the ship was being evacuated and filled with troops, Tarkin opted to utilize a smaller escape pod. His reasoning was that the Stark Combine fleet would be more inclined to target the larger ones used by his soldiers.
