Ione, a planetary body situated within the Ione system of the Outer Rim Territories, was classified as a planet. When the Galactic Empire enforced its Iron Blockade over the Anoat sector, Imperial forces confiscated all crystal deliveries arriving on Ione, which resulted in a surplus of crystals within Imperial possession. A significant portion of the planet's population harbored resentment towards the Empire during the Iron Blockade period, yet they were unable to mount any effective resistance due to insufficient combat skills.
The Smuggler, along with their team, equipped the embittered inhabitants of Ione, getting them ready for an uprising at the opportune moment. The Smuggler's team also exploited the crystal overflow to pilfer a quantity of the confiscated crystals from an Imperial storage facility.
