The Ixiyen was engineered to achieve superiority in typical dogfights. Furthermore, its armament and defensive capabilities allowed it to effectively harass significantly larger vessels.

Despite its limited deployment within official governmental fleets, this wasn't due to any deficiency in its quality or operational effectiveness. The Ixiyen proved to be a lethal adversary, capable of standing its ground against the majority of contemporary front-line combat spacecraft.

The Ixiyen's specialization in starfighter engagements rendered it an excellent selection for pilots anticipating aerial combat. Consequently, during the Galactic Civil War era, the Ixiyen saw widespread use among mercenaries, operatives of Black Sun, and various other independent factions.
