A vehicle for racing, piloted by Jace Rucklin, had all "unnecessary" systems taken out to reduce its weight and increase its speed; this included the ejection seat and its associated parachute. The racer met its end when Rucklin, trying to get an edge, added stolen hyperfuel without understanding the proper dosage. This action transformed the craft into a "bomb in the sky," which detonated before long. Kazuda Xiono heroically saved Rucklin's life using the ejection seat, risking his own in the process. Instead of showing gratitude, Rucklin, having invested all his money in the racer, disregarded his own role in the disaster and blamed Xiono, promising revenge for the racer's destruction.
The initial appearance of Rucklin's racer was in "Fuel for the Fire," the fourth installment of Star Wars Resistance's first season, an animated TV show that debuted on October 21, 2018. Within the episode, the craft was referred to as "Rucklin's new racer".
