The Jakelia system existed within the Mandalore sector, situated in the Trans-Hydian region of the Outer Rim Territories. This system was the native habitat of both the Jakelian tuft-oak tree and the sentient Jakelian species. Furthermore, the Jakelian knife-dance, a close-quarters combat style with dance-like elements, originated here.
The system of Jakelia made its initial appearance in the reference book The Essential Atlas, published in 2009, and authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry. It was located in grid O-7.
