Janta

The Janta comprised a tribe of Dantari people, who made their home on the world of Dantooine. The majority of the Janta resided in their village, and the tribe also built a stronghold within a cave system. The Janta were engaged in hostilities with both the Kunga and the Mokk, who were other tribes of Dantari.

During the time of the Galactic Civil War, it was said that the Janta permitted Rebels to find refuge within their group. In the year 1 ABY, a group of Janta launched an assault on an artisan close to their cave, and they absconded with a pair of his crafted artworks. The artisan later came to the understanding that these unsophisticated Janta were not inherently aggressive, but were merely in search of sustenance. At some juncture, a Janta clan chieftain was apprehended by the forces of the Galactic Empire and subsequently confined within the walls of the Imperial Prison located on the planet Dathomir. This particular clan leader subsequently met their demise during an attempt to break free from the aforementioned prison.
