Jedi: Battle Scars is the complete, spoken-word adaptation of the novel of the same name, penned by Sam Maggs. Sean Kenin Elias-Reyes lent his voice to the narration, and Random House Audio released it to the public on March 7 of 2023.
Cal Kestis has established a fresh existence alongside the members of the Stinger Mantis. Together, Cal's team has taken down bounty hunters, triumphed over Inquisitors, and even escaped Darth Vader's grasp. Above all, Merrin, Cere, Greez, and the dependable droid BD-1 represent the closest semblance of family Cal has experienced since the Jedi Order's demise. Despite the galaxy's increasingly uncertain future, the Mantis crew becomes bolder with each victory against the Empire.
During what should have been a typical assignment, they encounter a stormtrooper who is determined to forge her own path with the assistance of Cal and his companions. In return for aid in beginning a new life, this Imperial deserter reveals information about a potent and potentially invaluable asset in their struggle against the Empire. Furthermore, she offers to guide them to it. The only drawback is that pursuing this asset will lead them into the territory of one of the Empire's most formidable agents, the Inquisitor known as the Fifth Brother.
Can the Imperial deserter truly be relied upon? And while Cal and his allies have previously survived encounters with the Inquisitors, how many more times can they outmaneuver the Empire before their good fortune runs out?
The audiobook was narrated by Sean Kenin Elias-Reyes and made available by Random House Audio on March 7, 2023.
