Jedi bomber

The Jedi Bomber represented a type of starfighter utilized by members of the Jedi Order during the era of the Clone Wars.

Characteristics

This Jedi bomber was a starfighter that bore a visual similarity to the Delta-7B Aethersprite-class light interceptor due to its overall design and the inclusion of an astromech droid mounted centrally. However, unlike the interceptor, the Jedi Bomber had the capacity to carry two pilots. Its offensive capabilities included warhead launchers positioned at the wingtips.

History

During the initial stages of the Clone Wars, Jedi bombers saw active service. A pair of Jedi utilized one such craft as transportation to investigate the Sedawan when it came under attack by the Nightsisters. Additionally, three bombers were deployed against the Separatist superweapon known as Devastation, with three two-Jedi teams (Plo Koon and Ahsoka Tano, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Kit Fisto, and Anakin Skywalker and Mace Windu) tasked with its destruction.

Behind the scenes

The Jedi bomber makes an appearance in the 2008 video game Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Jedi Alliance, released on the Nintendo DS. Players have the option to unlock concept art related to this bomber.
