Jedi Convocations, also known as Jedi assemblies or Jedi conclaves, represented meetings of individuals within the Jedi Order that took place during periods of crisis. Typically, Jedi were invited to these gatherings through a Force call. Convocations occurred infrequently, primarily because they presented attractive—though potentially deadly—opportunities for those who opposed the Jedi.
Starting in 3997 BBY, the esteemed Jedi Master Odan-Urr functioned as the representative for the Jedi assemblies across a span of six hundred years. Following Master Urr's death, the practice of designating a highly respected member of the Order as spokesperson persisted, with Jedi Masters Nomi Sunrider and Luke Skywalker each fulfilling this role. However, after the disastrous Conclave on Katarr, where Darth Nihilus disrupted the event by absorbing and eliminating almost all life on the planet, large-scale Convocations were brought to an end.
