Jeremitt Towani was a Human male character. He was married to Catarine Towani and was the father of both Cindel and Mace Towani.
In 3 ABY, Jeremitt Towani and his family were traveling in their star cruiser, making their way back home, which took them through the Moddell sector. Due to unforeseen circumstances, their ship was forced to crash-land on the Forest Moon of Endor. Jeremitt and Catarine ventured out to seek assistance, leaving their children on the ship and instructing them to stay put. Upon their return, they discovered that their children were missing. Suddenly, the Gorax appeared near the ship and abducted Jeremitt and Catarine. Unbeknownst to them, Cindel was hidden inside the ship.
Shortly thereafter, a tribe of Ewoks living nearby, while searching for their own lost children, came across the wrecked Towani star cruiser, which they believed to be abandoned. After investigating the interior, they found Cindel concealed in a cabinet. Soon, Mace returned from an excursion into the forest and assumed the Ewoks intended to harm him and his sister. After realizing the Ewoks were friendly, he and his sister joined forces with them to rescue their parents from the Gorax's clutches.
Together, they left the village and journeyed across the Endor moon until they finally confronted the Gorax, engaging in battle and ultimately defeating it. Jeremitt and Catarine had been imprisoned in a cage by the Gorax and needed to be freed. Mace released them, and everyone returned to the village to celebrate their victory.
Jeremitt had hoped that Deej and Logray could assist him in repairing the star cruiser's transmitter. However, he soon realized that the Ewoks lacked knowledge of the star cruiser's technology. Consequently, he began working on repairing the star cruiser himself. After several months, the star cruiser was sufficiently repaired to allow the family to depart from the moon. However, as Jeremitt was finalizing the repairs, a band of Sanyassan Marauders launched an attack on the village, resulting in numerous deaths and the capture of many villagers. Jeremitt attempted to escape with Cindel but was shot in the back by one of the Marauders. Severely wounded, Jeremitt instructed Cindel to flee while he held off the Marauders with his blaster. He sustained fatal injuries during this act of bravery.
Jeremitt was played by Guy Boyd in Caravan of Courage, and by Paul Gleason in The Battle for Endor.
