Junk Junction

The Junction, also known as Junk Junction, was a sprawling junkyard situated in the Lower City of the planet Taris. This location was once occupied by a cluster of high-rise buildings, which were demolished but never rebuilt upon, resulting in a vast landscape of debris, garbage, and waste. After making Taris their home, the Arkanian Offshoots Jarael and Gorman "Camper" Vandrayk selected Junk Junction as their place of residence. Jarael and Camper camouflaged their junk hauler, The Last Resort, within Junk Junction by using tents and covers to disguise it as their dwelling.

Description

Junk Junction, one of the most expansive junkyards in the Lower City on the planet Taris, presented a desolate scene of garbage, debris, and refuse, though it was not completely devoid of inhabitants. The skyline of Junk Junction was characterized by towering heaps of trash, and despite being located below the open atmosphere of the Upper City, a view of the Tarisian sky was still partially visible. Scattered among the waste were a few remaining buildings that had survived intact. The considerable area of Junk Junction, coupled with the towering piles of trash, allowed for the concealment of an entire junk hauler spacecraft within the refuse. This junk hauler was The Last Resort, which served as a disguise for the home of the Arkanian Offshoots Jarael and Gorman "Camper" Vandrayk.

History

The Last Resort rises from Junk Junction.

Junk Junction originated on the grounds where a network of high-rise buildings once stood. These buildings were razed to clear space for a new project, but ultimately, nothing was constructed in their place, leading to the establishment of Junk Junction. By the conclusion of the Great Sith War, Junk Junction had become one of the largest junkyards on Taris. When the Arkanian Offshoots, Jarael and Gorman "Camper" Vandrayk, resolved to make Taris their home, they opted to reside in Junk Junction due to its vastness and ability to conceal their junk hauler, The Last Resort. To discourage visitors, Jarael and Camper set up traps within the trash and camouflaged The Last Resort as their residence, surrounding it with tents and canopies.

In 3964 BBY, Zayne Carrick, a Jedi Padawan, was falsely accused of murdering four of his fellow students and went into hiding with Marn Hierogryph, a local Snivvian criminal. Hierogryph brought Carrick to Junk Junction to meet with Camper, who had previously assisted him in smuggling the criminal Zovius Mendu off the planet. Following a brief conflict with Jarael, who was protecting Camper, Carrick and Hierogryph were targeted by a Taris Civil Authority gunship that was pursuing them. Carrick, Hierogryph, Jarael, and Camper made their escape aboard The Last Resort, leaving a significant void in the center of Junk Junction.
