KP-1 was a droid of the K-series
The K-series designates a line of astromech droids that operated during the times of the Imperial and New Republic Eras. The heads of these droids bore a resemblance to the R-series family of astromechs, most notably the R2 series astromech droids. Back in 9 BBY, a male astromech droid called KP-1, who was affiliated with the Hidden Path, was discovered on the planet of Jabiim. Sometime around 9 ABY during the New Republic Era, some K-series astromechs could be located in The Resistor, a droid bar situated on Plazir-15.
