In the galactic timeline, the year 9 BBY corresponds to 3268 LY on the Lothal Calendar and 7968 according to the C.R.C. calendar. Several significant occurrences unfolded during this period.
- The Death Star was relocated to Scarif, as documented in reference [13]. To conceal the Death Star's existence, the Galactic Empire initiated the sterilization of Geonosis,[13] effectively concluding its prolonged occupation. This event's date is approximate, according to reference [6].
- After a decade of stagnation, the Inquisitors commenced their hunt for Obi-Wan Kenobi [1]. Reva Sevander, also known as the Third Sister, orchestrated the abduction of young Leia Organa as part of a scheme to locate Obi-Wan Kenobi.[1] Her ultimate objective was to lure Kenobi out, approach the Sith Lord Darth Vader, and assassinate him in retribution for the slaughter of her fellow Jedi Initiates during the Siege of the Jedi Temple.[14] While rescuing Organa on Daiyu, Kenobi reestablished his connection to the Force and learned from the Third Sister that Vader was still alive.[15] Vader located and pursued Kenobi on Mapuzo. However, members of the Hidden Path escorted Kenobi to safety before Vader could exact his revenge. Concurrently, the Third Sister captured Organa[16] and transported her to the Fortress Inquisitorius on the moon of Nur.[2] Kenobi and members of the Path successfully extracted Organa from Nur, but the Third Sister covertly placed a homing beacon[2] on Organa's toy droid L0-LA59 "Lola," which led the Empire to the Path's base on Jabiim.[2] Despite the Empire's full-scale assault on Jabiim, Kenobi's understanding of Vader's strategies and the Third Sister's betrayal enabled the Path to escape. Vader impaled the Third Sister with her own lightsaber, leaving her for dead[14] as he continued his pursuit of Kenobi.[7] Reva, having been alerted to Luke Skywalker's existence by an imagecaster left on Jabiim,[14] journeyed to Tatooine with the intention of killing Vader's son.[7]

- On a desolate moon, Vader and Kenobi engaged in a lightsaber duel, which Kenobi ultimately won. When Vader proclaimed that he was the one who "killed" Anakin Skywalker, Kenobi believed his former friend was deceased and left the moon.[7] After overcoming Beru and Owen Lars, Reva found herself unable to kill Luke after cornering him in Beggar's Canyon and safely returned him. Kenobi, who had flown directly to Tatooine after sensing Skywalker was in danger, assured Reva that she had honored her friends by resisting the dark side and encouraged her to embark on a new path.[7] Organa was returned to her home on Alderaan and reunited with Kenobi, who urged her to keep their connection a secret.[7] Kenobi officially met Luke Skywalker for the first time and reunited with the Force spirit of Qui-Gon Jinn.[7]
- Cal Kestis and his crew discovered the planet Tanalorr, concealed within the Koboh Abyss. During the mission on Coruscant, the majority of Kestis' crew perished.[3] Kestis crash-landed the Mantis on the Outer Rim planet Koboh, where he reunited with his longtime friend, Greez Dritus, to repair the Mantis.[3] Dagan Gera awakened on Koboh, embraced the dark side, and allied himself with the Bedlam Raiders. Kestis reunited the crew of the Mantis - Dritus, Cere Junda, and Merrin - and Master Eno Cordova. He discovered the Hidden Path and began to contemplate using Tanalorr as a sanctuary for the Path.[3] Rayvis, a Gen'Dai member of the Bedlam Raiders, was slain by Kestis on the Shattered Moon of Koboh. Gera was killed by Kestis and Bode Akuna on Koboh. Bode betrayed the Hidden Path on Jedha to the Empire and murdered Eno Cordova. Cere Junda was killed by Darth Vader on Jedha. Bode and his daughter fled to Tanalorr, pursued by Kestis and Merrin, where Bode was killed in combat.
- Miara Larte received a promotion to the rank of captain during a ceremony held on Alderaan, as noted in references [17] and [18].
- 4-LOM and Zuckuss made an attempt to capture Han Solo and Chewbacca , [19] which resulted in them crashing on a planet teeming with scorpion-droids , as per reference [20].
