Kaerobani was a male Human smuggler commanding the notorious Lumini Pirates. Based on Rathalay, his defining characteristic was an insatiable desire to amass rare artifacts for his personal collection. Circa 10 ABY, during the era of the New Republic, Kaerobani's pirates launched an assault on a New Republic CR90 corvette, aiming to seize an ancient Jedi Holocron carried aboard. After eliminating a significant portion of the ship's complement, the pirates successfully absconded with the Holocron, transporting it back to Kaerobani's headquarters. Subsequently, the Holocron was retrieved by the Jedi Knight Mara Jade.
By 10 ABY, during the time of the New Republic, Kaerobani, a male Human, had risen to prominence as a notorious pirate and smuggling kingpin. Driven by a deep fascination with rare artifacts, Kaerobani amassed a diverse collection, which included items such as a Phase II dark trooper helmet and the cranial unit of the infamous droid information broker 8t88. Around this time, Kaerobani assumed leadership of the Lumini Pirates, enlisting the service of several Noghri. They established their base of operations on the planet Rathalay, occupying a sprawling fortress complete with hangars, cantinas, and bustling market areas. The fortress featured various communal spaces, as well as a dedicated trophy room where Kaerobani displayed his prized possessions.
His pirates mounted an attack on a CR90 corvette serving the Combined Defense Forces of the New Republic, employing a captured Immobilizer 418 cruiser to disable the corvette and seize its valuable cargo, including a significant Jedi Holocron. Mara Jade, a member of the corvette's crew, fought off the pirates. However, the Holocron had already been stolen, forcing Jade to stow away inside a cargo crate to retrieve it. She successfully infiltrated Kaerobani's base, recovered the Holocron, and made her escape.

The name Kaerobani is derived from the word "Caribbean."
Kaerobani is referenced within the game's plot and manual, but his character model is exclusively available as a multiplayer character.
In an unreleased story by Daniel Wallace, a reformed Kaerobani was to have become friends with the retired Grand Admiral Grant. During the Yuuzhan Vong invasion of Rathalay, Kaerobani's 8t88 head would have assisted Grant in the planet's defense.
