The Kaitis Cartel represented a made-up crime syndicate conceived by the Sith Lord known as Darth Maul. Disguised as an enforcer within the cartel, Maul collaborated with the thief named Zek Peiro to seize consignments of scarn. This criminal enterprise derived its moniker from the Rutian Twi'lek Padawan, Eldra Kaitis, who had been the initial Jedi to be killed by Maul.
