The Kaleesh Resistance functioned as a group of insurgents amongst the Kaleesh people. They were active during the Kaleesh–Imperial conflict that took place after the conclusion of the Clone Wars. The group was led by General Bentilais san Sk'ar, and they resisted the Imperial forces that occupied their world for almost ten years before being defeated by Captain Thrawn.
Thrawn, who typically analyzed his enemies' artistic expressions to formulate strategies for their defeat, found himself unable to understand the art of the Kaleesh. As a result, he leveled the city of Oben using his Star Destroyers, causing significant losses and effectively ending the rebellion. Sk'ar was one of the few who lived through the attack, and he later enlisted in the Imperial Army due to his admiration for the tactical prowess of his former enemy.
