Aliens in the Empire functions as an online companion piece to the content found within Star Wars Insider 96 and 97. These articles, penned by both Abel G. Peña and Rich Handley, were exclusively released through Hyperspace. The initial part saw its release on November 7, 2007, with the subsequent part arriving on December 4.
Part 1, conceived as an addendum to Strangers Among Us: The Aliens Who Built the Galactic Empire, placed its attention on the characters of Mammon Hoole, Borborygmus Gog, Cartariun, and Ampotem Za. Part 2, conversely, showcased Hethrir, Stafuv Rahz, Kharys, and Bentilais san Sk'ar.
A third part was at one point considered, intended to spotlight the Most High Proctor hailing from Thebeon 8, alongside Senator Mzerc as seen in Princess Leia, Imperial Servant. However, this planned installment was ultimately never produced.
