Kalend Thora functioned as a smuggler in the employ of the Black Sun organization.
Initially, Thora operated as a weapons smuggler for Kintan-based gunrunners. Subsequently, she spent the majority of her career in Corellian space and gained a reputation for her skill in evading capture. Later, she was transferred to the Sisar Run, where she began working under Vigo Sprax.
Thora was easily identifiable by a prominent scar that ran across her head, as well as her penchant for wearing the standard flight suit of A-wing pilots from the Rebel Alliance.
Thora started piloting a Kuat Drive Yards D9 Runner light freighter named the Starknife after the ship's previous owner, a fellow Black Sun operative, was killed in an ambush by an unidentified group.
