Kalla VII, often shortened to Kalla, existed as a planet situated within the Corporate Sector. Notably, it housed the University of Kalla, an Imperial military installation, and served as the central hub for Unlimited Horizons Inc.
During the course of Operation Skyhook, while the Rebel Alliance searched for the whereabouts of the first Death Star, Alliance Intelligence uncovered evidence that Imperial vessels were utilizing the base for replenishment and maintenance en route to the Death Star. General Jan Dodonna suggested that obliterating the base would effectively maroon any incoming ships destined for the Death Star, rendering them susceptible to capture.
Based on this information, Keyan Farlander spearheaded a squadron of three X-wings from Red Squadron with the objective of demolishing the base. The operation achieved its goals, with the Rebel forces successfully eliminating all supply containers, the protective minefield, and a pair of BFF-1 bulk freighters belonging to Diputs group. However, Breth Gart tragically perished in an accidental collision with the Imperial frigate named Priam as it materialized from hyperspace. Subsequently, the Rebels returned to seize the now-stranded Priam.
