Kalor (Republic)

Kalor was a male captain of Mirialan descent. He served within the Personnel Division of the Army of the Galactic Republic throughout both the Cold War and the Galactic War. He acted as the supervising officer for the defector Elara Dorne, relentlessly pressuring her to demonstrate her allegiance, convinced she remained loyal to the reconstituted Sith Empire. Dorne ultimately exposed the excessive nature of his investigations.

Biography

During the time of the Cold War, Kalor took on the role of supervisory officer for Elara Dorne, a former Imperial defector. After Dorne's reassignment from her position on Taris to Havoc Squad, she reached out to Kalor. She explained that due to the highly classified nature of Havoc Squad's operations, she could no longer provide reports to the Personnel Division as she had done while stationed on Taris. Kalor voiced strong opposition, but Dorne's new CO overruled him.

Later, after Dorne successfully persuaded her brother, Aleksei, and his squad to defect following their disavowal by the Empire on Nar Shaddaa, Kalor contacted Havoc's starship. He stated that the Republic believed she might be withholding information and inquired if she had anything to disclose, which Dorne denied. Kalor appeared to accept her answer.

As time passed, Kalor's obsession with proving Dorne's continued loyalty to the Empire intensified. He attempted to initiate a formal inquiry that would have resulted in her removal from active duty. He acquired testimony from a civilian security officer on Taris named Ridu, who alleged that Dorne was responsible for the death of a visiting senator. Upon being confronted with this evidence by Kalor, Dorne confronted Ridu, who then retracted his statement, admitting that he was actually responsible for the senator's death. Despite his frustration at the failure of his case, Kalor persisted in his persecution of Dorne.

Ultimately, Kalor discovered a loophole within the military regulations that allowed him to proceed with his inquiry. This proved to be the final provocation for Dorne. She confronted Kalor on Coruscant, presenting his superiors with documentation that demonstrated the wasteful nature of Kalor's relentless pursuit of her, effectively dismantling his case.
