Kammris was a type of metallic ore located within the polymetallic nodules present in the seas of the Western Reaches planet known as Wadi Raffa. Due to the active hydrothermal vents in Wadi Raffa's seas, kammris, along with other ores like doonium, dolovite, and meleenium, were deposited. Turlin/Benthic Extraction, a mining company, utilized hydraulic pumps to extract these ores and transport them to the surface for refinement.
The initial mention of Kammris occurred in Catalyst: A Rogue One Novel, a canon novel published in 2016 and authored by James Luceno. Within the Star Wars Legends timeline, the first reference to kammris was in The Last Command, a novel from 1993 written by Timothy Zahn. The metal made its debut in the MMORPG Star Wars Galaxies, which was developed by Sony Online Entertainment in 2003.[3]
