Wadi Raffa, situated in the Western Reaches and the Outer Rim Territories, was a planet considered a legacy world. This beautiful planet, Wadi Raffa, was characterized by its landscapes displaying green and yellow forests across its landmasses, along with conical mountains that included a volcano. The rivers of Wadi Raffa flowed into the seas, creating estuaries, and the deep blue waters showcased inlets, scattered rocky islands, sandy coves, and red clay riverbanks. Being a Legacy world, Wadi Raffa lacked substantial settlements, hosting only a settlement inhabited by a few hundred Turlin/Benthic Extraction workers. These workers legally extracted undersea minerals, including kammris and meleenium from the hydrothermal vents, until the Galactic Empire seized control.
In order to eliminate Wadi Raffa's Legacy designation, the Galactic Empire contracted Ranos Yalli and Has Obitt to transport old Separatist ion cannons to the planet, with the intent of "discovering" them. The removal of this status would allow the planet to be mined extensively for doonium and dolovite, essential components in building the original Death Star. Obitt successfully delivered several weapon containers disguised as pipe fittings to the location, where he encountered a crew chief who aided in the unloading process. The Empire's plan was successful, leading to their takeover of Turlin/Benthic's operations and the subsequent strip-mining and deforestation of the planet to extract these valuable resources.
