Kath II, alternatively known as Kath, existed as a world with a surface entirely covered by ocean. Its location was within the Dustig sector found in the Mid Rim.

Situated in the Trailing Sectors portion of the Mid Rim, Kath II, or simply Kath, was a terrestrial world residing within the Kath system, itself a constituent of the Dustig sector.
The Dustig Trace, a relatively short yet valuable route inside the Dustig sector, originated at Kath II. This route traversed Malastare before its terminus at Demos Four. Kath II's position aligned with the broader path connecting Kuar in the Deep Core and Shumavar within the Atravis sector of the Outer Rim Territories.
This ocean-dominated world featured deep oceanic trenches, notably the Karm Trenches. It shared its name with the sentient reptilian Kath species. By 24 ABY, Humans constituted one third of the planet's total inhabitants.
Kath II was situated in a region of space that underwent exploration during the period spanning from 5000 BBY to 3000 BBY.
During the Galactic Civil War, specifically sometime between 2 BBY and 2 ABY, the Galactic Empire exercised subjugation over Kath II. During the conflict, forces belonging to the Rebel Alliance established positions within the Karm Trenches. The subjugation of Kath involved significant deployment of the Aquadon CAVa 400, an aquatic combat vehicle derived from the CAVw PX-10, by Imperial forces. This subjugation resulted in widespread civilian casualties.
In 24 ABY, the Diversity Alliance, a terrorist organization with anti-Human sentiments, conducted extensive campaigning on Kath II. Consequently, despite comprising one third of the planet's population, no Human candidate was elected to any office following a global election held on Kath II.
The world of Kath was conceived by Bill Smith for Alliance Intelligence Reports, a 1995 supplement published by West End Games for their Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. Later, the world was referenced and identified as Kath II in Young Jedi Knights: Diversity Alliance, a young-adult novel from 1997 co-written by Kevin J. Anderson and Rebecca Moesta.
