Kathryn Hunter, a British actress born in America, played the role of Eedy Karn in the television series Andor. She is most famous for her performances in the theater, as well as her portrayals of Arabella Figg in the 2007 movie Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and the Three Witches in the 2021 film The Tragedy of Macbeth.
Hunter collaborated with Kyle Soller, who plays Syril Karn, on a narrative concerning Karn's father for Andor. The storyline involved his early and terrible departure. They both considered the injustice Eedy suffered as the foundation for her parenting of Syril. The performers felt that Eedy's resentment, sadness, dissatisfaction, and the annoyance caused by his abandonment were passed down to Syril.
