Keedad, situated within the Keedad system within the Auril sector of the Slice region of the Outer Rim Territories, was a distant, land-based planet. The lettrani fruit tree originated there, and it also served as the homeworld of the Keed species, who are near-Human.
During the early years of the Galactic Republic, which was established in 25,053 BBY, Humans settled on Keedad. Ytavarg Aleema, a Keed from Keedad, was born circa 26 BBY, and was also a descendant of the Human settlers. At a time shortly after the Battle of Yavin, Aleema took part in an informal game of lettranin inside a walled stone arena. Among the spectators was Ger Plortor, a talent scout for the Shad Furies, a well-known shockball team from the Core Worlds, who was on vacation. Plortor recruited the Keed athlete to the team, and Aleema went with the scout to the Core Worlds, where she eventually rose to become the most famous shockball player in the galaxy.
Craig Robert Carey conceived of Keedad, which debuted in Cracken's Rebel Operatives, a sourcebook for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game released by West End Games in 1994. The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas located the Keedad system, and consequently the planet, at grid coordinate R-7.
