Klepti B'ay, a Jawa inhabiting Tatooine, belonged to a clan that scavenged the remains of a downed Rebel starship. Little did they know, a functional dark trooper was present within the debris. Once it managed to extricate itself, it eliminated the majority of the Jawas who were on the sandcrawler. The out-of-control sandcrawler then careened into the Mos Espa Grand Arena, making Klepti B'ay the sole Jawa survivor, and almost causing the deaths of nearby mercenaries Gizman, Spiker, and Onoh.
Following his meeting with Big Gizz and Spiker, he turned out to be a useful, albeit dubious, "ally"; Gizz commandeered his blaster, nearly rendering the Jawa unconscious in the process, and then employed it against the dark trooper. Klepti also assisted Onoh in toppling a substantial heap of debris onto the dark trooper. Subsequently, he pledged a life debt to both Gizz and Spiker, and was subsequently "adopted" into their group.
