Knights of the Old Republic 5: Commencement, Part 5 represents the fifth installment within the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic comic book series.
Jarael and Zayne Carrick find themselves in a dire situation, surrounded by Taris security forces and the Jedi Master Lucien on Taris' Rogue Moon, facing what seem like insurmountable odds. Suddenly, The Last Resort appears, bombarding the surface and dispersing the security forces, which allows Zayne and Jarael to flee with the damaged remains of T1-LB, hoping to retrieve memory holograms from the droid.
Aboard The Last Resort, Camper dedicates himself to repairing T1-LB, successfully restoring the droid to functionality after some modifications and repairs. Zayne then requests that T1-LB, affectionately called Elbee, play back a recording of his final moments on the Rogue Moon, aiming to uncover clues about the events surrounding the Taris massacre. The recording reveals the Jedi masters in meditation, where they foresee the emergence of a Dark Lord on Taris. Convinced that one of their Padawans is destined to become this Sith Lord, they plot to eliminate their students. T1-LB, the only witness to this conspiracy, is subsequently thrown off a cliff by Lucien. Once the recording concludes, Elbee automatically deletes the memory due to witnessing his own destruction.
Shortly thereafter, The Last Resort is ensnared in the tractor beam of Valius Ying's vessel, the Oroko. Valius Ying is there to collect the bounty placed on Zayne and Gryph. Gryph skillfully negotiates freedom for himself, Jarael, and Camper, but the bounty hunters refuse to release Zayne.
Later, after escaping captivity, Zayne, troubled by the possibility of the prophecy coming true and his potential transformation into a Sith Lord, attempts to re-board The Last Resort and escape the Oroko. However, before he can depart, Jarael spots him and rebukes him for involving her and Camper in this predicament only to abandon them and attempt to steal their ship. Following her reprimand, Zayne drops his lightsaber and decides to surrender himself to the Jedi and Taris authorities, hoping to prevent the prophecy foreseen by the Jedi from being fulfilled.
