They were known for kidnapping visitors to both Naboo and Rori, compelling them to labor in the mines. Around the period of the Battle of Yavin, the Kobola Miners were frequently engaged in armed conflicts with both the Rorgungans and the lawful miners belonging to the Rori Spice Mining Collective.
