The Kraken-class deep lurker represented a type of submersible equipped with significant firepower, yet they possessed a weakness against assaults from starfighters. In the course of the Troithe operation, six of these deep lurkers launched an attack from beneath the surface of Troithe, causing substantial losses to a New Republic ground convoy on its way to seize the capital city of Troithe. A number of vehicles, notably Republic HAVw A6 Juggernauts, were obliterated. Subsequently, Alphabet Squadron promptly eliminated the lurkers.
