The Krevaaki constituted a race of sentient beings who originated on the planet Krevas. A defining characteristic of the Krevaaki was their possession of an external skeleton. The faces of the Krevaaki were characterized by an array of mobile, chitin-based plates, resulting in a limited capacity for displaying emotions. Consequently, those unfamiliar with Krevaaki found it challenging to interpret their facial cues during interpersonal interactions.
Instead of utilizing limbs such as arms and legs, as seen in bipedal species, Krevaaki employed tentacles. The precise number of tentacles they possessed was often kept hidden from humanoid beings.
Evolving from ancient, shallow-water crustaceans, the Krevaaki were notably large, non-humanoid entities. From a young age, they underwent training to specialize the use of their tentacles for particular tasks. As they aged, their capacity for adaptation diminished. Over vast stretches of time, they evolved to utilize technology.
When a Krevaaki experienced excitement, a distinct scent would emanate from their musk glands.
Even during the era of the celebrated Old Republic, the Krevaaki were conscious of how others perceived their physical form. Renowned for their exploratory endeavors during peaceful times, they generally avoided involvement in conflicts. It was uncommon to encounter large groups of Krevaaki away from their home planet, situated off the Perlemian Trade Route.
Notably, one Krevaaki, the Jedi Master known as Vodo-Siosk Baas, served as the mentor to Exar Kun in his capacity as a Jedi Padawan. Other Krevaaki of significance include Baas's descendant Bodo Baas and Saaj Calician, a Sith Lord who was active during the period of the Republic Dark Age.
