Krizlaws were indigenous herd animals originating from the planet known as Munlali Mafir. Their appearance included heads similar to a rancor, smooth pink skin, and small red eyes. They possessed small arms ending in three venomous claws, and large legs adapted for leaping. Believed to possess an intelligence level comparable to a nerf, they consistently hunted in groups of eleven, with each member connected via a type of hive-mind. If one member suffered injury or death, a replacement would appear, restoring the group to its full complement of eleven.
During the passage of the living planet Zonama Sekot through their star system, the planet underwent an extended period of seismic and volcanic events, which drastically reduced the Krizlaw population and even led to the destruction of the sentient Jostran civilization. Consequently, the surviving Jostrans established a symbiotic bond with the Krizlaws. They would enter through the creatures' mouths and navigate to the spine and brain, where they would assume control of the central nervous system. The resulting Krizlaw species now incorporated not only their original animal hive-mind of eleven interconnected individuals, but also eleven intelligent Jostran "riders" within the collective.
