Kroddok Stopa, affiliated with the Obroan Institute, held the dual roles of scientist and explorer.
Stopa was assigned leadership of an expedition to Brath Qella in 16 ABY, a mission secretly directed by New Republic Intelligence. He and Josala Krenn, his colleague, traveled from their location on Babali aboard the NRI ferret named IX-26 to Brath Qella; upon arrival, they realized they needed more supplies and asked for a team to assist them.
Prior to the arrival of reinforcements, Stopa and Krenn disembarked to find evidence of the Qella civilization. Tragically, both researchers perished in a glacial avalanche, thereby ending Stopa's aspirations for a future expedition to Stovax. In remembrance of their sacrifice, the glacier that caused their demise was named the Stopa-Krenn glacier following the recovery of their bodies by the crew of the Penga Rift.
