Ksar Medenine

Ksar Medenine (in Arabic: قصر مدنين) is an ancient fortified village, or ksar, situated in the town of Medenine, which lies in southeastern Tunisia. It is positioned along the primary route heading towards Libya. Medenine serves as the main city for the Medenine Governorate. This Ksar was shown in Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace on two occasions: firstly, when Anakin Skywalker guides his newly acquired companions to his residence during a sandstorm, and subsequently, when Anakin rushes back to his mother right before his departure with Qui-Gon Jinn; both instances occur at the same location.
