L-hand 980
Luke Skywalker tests his prosthetic hand. The L-hand 980 constituted a prosthetic hand design manufactured by Antilles BioGen (ABG). This particular model was implemented by the medical droid designated 2-1B in order to furnish Luke Skywalker with a replacement for the hand he lost on Bespin during his confrontation with his father, Darth Vader.
Subsequently, ABG ceased production of the arm associated with the L-hand 980. However, 2-1B put forth the suggestion of utilizing the J2J model prosthetic arm produced by Organa Organics as an alternative.
Behind the scenes
The L-hand 980, Antilles BioGen, the J2J, and Organa Organics were initially referenced by an embittered 2-1B within the Dear 2-1B section of Star Wars Insider 51.
