Laser cauterizer

A handheld device known as a laser cauterizer functioned by emitting a low-frequency laser beam to both disinfect and seal wounds through burning. These were commonly found within Medkits.

Description

These laser cauterizers served the purpose of emergency surgical procedures in the field. Upon activation, the device emitted a low-frequency laser capable of both disinfecting and cauterizing injuries. A key feature of these cauterizers was their ability to reseal significant blood vessels.

Laser cauterizers were standard components of medpacs, notably the FastFlesh medpac from Biotech Industries' and the GLiS Emergency Medpac from Chiewab's. The field cauterizer, produced by Nilar Med/Tech Corporation, represented a particular model of laser cauterizer.

History

To treat Larin Moxla after a Sith lightsaber severed four of his fingers, Ula Vii employed a laser cauterizer in conjunction with a bone stabilizer compound.
