Law of Life

The Law of Life represented a core tenet of Ithorian philosophy.

This Law stipulated that for each plant eradicated during harvesting, double that number must be replanted. Ithorians extended this principle well beyond mere harvesting practices: whenever an Ithorian extinguished a life, whether a plant or animal, regardless of the context, they were obligated to generate two new lives to compensate.

Momaw Nadon, an Ithorian, found himself compelled to commit an act of betrayal against Alima, an Imperial officer, leading to her execution. This action flew in the face of his deeply held convictions. In an attempt to expiate his transgression, Nadon procured samples of Alima's DNA and subsequently cloned them, resulting in the creation of two Alima clones.

In a parallel scenario, after an extensive and arduous struggle spanning centuries, the Ithorians managed to capture the entity known as Spore, an entity responsible for the deaths of hundreds. The Ithorians, however, found themselves unable to fulfill the Law of Life, as they lacked the means to clone Spore or generate an equivalent life form. Consequently, they were left with no alternative but to imprison Spore, rather than end its existence.
